Welcome to Tuvsjyen waterfront property situated in spectacular Saltstraumen, the world's strongest Maelstrom which is Bodø's no.1 nature attraction. This is in the north of Norway just above the Arctic Circle. We specialise in bringing the local culture alive by events with food and storytelling around the open fire. Archaeological excavations have proven settlements in this area dating more than 10.000 years back in time to the last Iceage.

Team building activities, deep sea rafting in the Maelstrom and fishing is combinable.

A spectacular way to start the event is by boat from Bodø. Along the way you will be in the middle of stunning nature with mountains and fjords, come close to the majestic sea eagles, special geology and get close to the strong forces of the Maelstrom. If this is timed around the peak of the Maelstrom it is truely wonderful.
A tidetable will show the strongest times for each day. You can find the strongest times for the Maelstrom coming IN towards high tide and going OUT towards low tide here. The Saltstraumen Maelstrom force is at its peak 3 hours before high tide and 3 hours before low tide. A spectacular sight to witness.
It is also possible to arrive by car, taxi or bus and have a stop to admire the Maelstrom just before arriving at Tuvsjyen.

Your hosts dressed in theme clothing invite you inside the Stoneage house when it is time for stories and opening the cooking pit. The local diet through many thousand years is given by nature. Let us show you the ancient liftestyle and amazing food. During your stay you will sense the local culture and enjoy some of the wonderful foods from the region, i.e. reindeer, moose, fish/seafood, herbs, berries, mushrooms, vegetables and smoked sea salt made from Saltstraumen water.
